Welcoming All

Our Reconciling in Christ Commitment

In September 2023, after a year-long process of study and prayer, our congregation voted to become a Reconciling in Christ congregation. In addition to adopting the statement below, we also affirmed the following commitments:

We would be open to calling an LGBTQIA+ individual or a Black, Brown, Indigenous, or Person of Color to serve as a pastor or deacon. We also agreed to allow our sanctuary and outdoor spaces to be used for LGBTQIA+ weddings and blessings.

  Our Statement

Mt Pleasant is a welcoming church. We always have been and always will be. We welcome individuals of all races, ethnicities, all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions and others who have been marginalized or treated as less, to walk the road of faith with us. We commit ourselves to the work of anti-racism, socio-economic justice and environmental care. Jesus loved without condition, loving neighbors as himself. You are our neighbor, and as followers of Christ we can do no less. We are all striving to be the best we can be. All are welcome at our table; all are welcome to join in our journey.

We are an open and welcoming congregation, if our mission is your mission, please join us!

The first time I walked into Mt. Pleasant I knew I was home! That was 20 years ago and Mt. Pleasant is still a very welcoming and friendly church.
Very inclusive and friendly church, welcoming everyone regardless of circumstances. They are community-oriented.
What a loving church! They do not judge like a lot of churches do.
Our Pastor as well as the people that attend are very welcoming and friendly. Our Pastor’s messages are easy to follow along to and relate to. We are a small country church. We enjoy our music and would love to see you some Sunday morning. Come check us out.
